Saturday afternoon’s District 16-6A battle between Oak Ridge and Atascocita was just as advertised: a good old-fashioned, high-scoring, shootout.
Both teams combined for 950 yards and 90 points, but it was the Atscocita Eagles who spoiled the War Eagles’ homecoming at Woodforest Bank Stadium, 51-39.
“It was a district game and we needed to win it,” Atascocita coach Craig Stump said. “We missed some chances early but we hit on enough of them. Oak Ridge played great, they are good football team.”
Atascocita successfully bounced back from last week’s 38-14 loss to The Woodlands and improves to 6-1 and 2-1 in district play for the season. click here for complete story
