College Park coach Richard Carson was a believer that junior Jordan Turnquest was the right man for the job to lead the Cavaliers after he performed well on the junior varsity last year and also took second-team reps in practice with the varsity.

“No matter what, Jordan would have been playing this year,” Carson said before practice Monday afternoon. “He’s a good athlete. He’s a hard-working young man and I think he’s a leader. I think the kids like him and they follow him. It’s just one of those things you see coming up.”

In the offseason, Turnquest went through a little bit of adversity before he could taste the reward of being the starter in Week 1 for the Cavaliers. He had endured, and subsequently, recovered from a knee injury. click here for complete story
