District is ready to put $487 million in bond money to work

The Conroe Independent School District is moving ahead on new school construction projects now that voters have approved a $487 million bond proposal during the Nov. 3 elections.

“It’s very reassuring to know that the community supports our school system, and it showed that through our bond election,” said CISD Superintendent Don Stockton who has now led three successful bond campaigns during his tenure.

The bond proposal came out of a facility planning committee, which comprised 20 parents, business leaders and other community members, and was approved by the board of trustees in August before making its way to the ballot box. click here for complete story
