Friday’s game between Oak Ridge and C.E. King was a shootout between both teams’ star players. Unfortunately for the War Eagles, the Panthers brought one more star to the game than they did.
Three Panthers scored 20 points or more as King cruised to an 85-67 win over the War Eagles.
“We were competitive in stretches,” Oak Ridge coach Neil Laminack said. “But we just went through some long spurts where we committed four or five turnovers in a row — sometime those were unforced.”
Charles Callier led King with 21 points while Denzel Thomas added 20 points. But the heavy lifting was done by Gilbert Thomas, who led the way with 30 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double and with six buckets coming on fastbreak dunks. And though his 30 points were a game-high, he was held to just six points in the second half. click here for complete story
