Last season was a struggle.

After making the playoffs in 2014, in interim coach Joe Price’s only season, the Oak Ridge boys basketball players won only one game in District 16-6A play while adjusting to coach Neil Laminack.

The War Eagles finished 12-20 overall, 1-11 in district.

“Coach Price was able to come in and do a really good job, and overachieve with a veteran team, and there was a handful of guys coming back (last season) … but there was only one who had any actual playing experience on varsity,” Laminack said.

With little experience, Laminack and his staff focused on developing sub-varsity players, so they’re replacing and not rebuilding every year on varsity, while establishing the expectations for the present. click here for complete story
