Basketball: Lang, Freas help The Woodlands turn back Clear Falls 69-53

The Woodlands boys basketball squad overcame a slow start and pulled away from Clear Falls in the fourth quarter, stopping the Knights 69-53.

The Woodlands improved to 15-4 on the season while Clear Falls fell to 8-7.

Ryan Lang hit three clutch free throws with about five minutes left, putting the Highlanders ahead for good. Lang finished the game with 19 points.

“Clear Falls is a really good team,” Highlander coach Dale Reed said. “Coach (Clif) Lyles was an assistant with Darren Chandler from Deer Park. So we knew we were going to see a lot of things we saw against Deer Park, who played us tough, and we did. click here for complete story
