Conroe PD charges man with impersonating officer after he allegedly stole boots from Cavender’s while carrying a loaded gun without a license

348sConroe police arrested a man at Cavender’s Boot City Saturday night for allegedly impersonating a DPS trooper, illegally carrying a weapon and stealing a pair of boots.

According to Conroe PD, Matthew L. Burks, 27, had a loaded 9 mm handgun and a pair of wire cutters, potentially used for cutting off security devices from the pair of boots, when he was arrested at 8:35 p.m. Saturday.
