Oak Ridge’s Gates Yager (9) moves the ball as College Park’s Maria Rossi (24) and Emma Coomes (23) defend this past Tuesday against College Park.

With Tuesday night’s 3-0 loss to College Park at Woodforest Bank Stadium, Oak Ridge’s District 16-6A record fell to 2-8, eliminating the Lady War Eagles from the 2016 playoff race.

“We have a very young team with seven sophomores and freshman on the field,” Oak Ridge coach James Collins said. “When they get down its hard for them to get back up. This team is a good team all year.

“It’s just hard to overcome losing a lot of kids at the beginning of the year.”

In a bizarre stroke of bad luck, Oak Ridge lost seven players to knee injuries before the season could even get rolling. click here for complete story
