The Lone Star College Law Enforcement Academy will host an open house for those interested in learning more about a rewarding career as a peace officer. The event will take place Thursday, March 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. at LSC-University Park 20515 SH 249.
“As a response to the growing needs of businesses and our communities, we are training more officers who will be equipped to meet the needs of the 21st Century,” said Shah Ardalan, LSC-University Park president. “The Lone Star College Basic Peace Officer Course prepares cadets intellectually, ethically and physically to enter into a department’s field training program and ultimately to assume the responsibilities and duties of a peace officer.”
The academy will launch its next full-time Basic Peace Officer class July 14. The class meets from 7 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. weekdays. .After completing the course, cadets will take the 250-question state licensing exam. They must pass with a score of 70 or above, at which point they will be eligible to apply to any law enforcement agency in the state. click here for complete story
