Show off your skills and see how many “bombs” you can hit under the lights at Highlander Field

When: Monday, November 28thhrderby1
Time: Registration begins at 5:30 Contest – 6:00 – 8:00
Cost: $10 or an unwrapped toy
What: Home Run Derby – Show off your skills and see how many “bombs” you can hit under the lights at Highlander Field

Signup for the Woodlands HS softball team home run derby competition called “Bomb Fest”. All of the proceeds go towards buying presents for the CASA Jingle Bell Christmas party that the Highlander softball players volunteer at every year. CASA stands for ‘Court Appointed Special Advocates’. This group helps children who are involved with CPS and foster care in Montgomery County.

Round 1:

  • 12 “swings” per turn. 10 contestants with the most “bombs” in their turn advance.
  • Can purchase unlimited turns until 7:00 (may purchase 1 additional turn after 7:00)

Round 2:

  • 3 contestants with the most “bombs” after 12 swings (1 turn) advance

Round 3:

  • Contestants will have 6 “outs” to hit as many “bombs” as possible.
  • Person with the most “bombs” is the winner

*There will be different distance divisions for men/women

Softball: Big Austin Bowie inning helps eliminate Oak Ridge Story

Things simply didn’t go Oak Ridge’s way Friday night in the UIL Region II-6A area round. After picking up two quick outs in the bottom of the second inning, Austin Bowie scored 10 runs, all but ending the game in one half-inning. click here for complete story
