The Woodlands Bar Association accepting Future Lawyer Scholarship applications

Graduation Day. Clipping path included.Applications are now being accepted by graduating seniors residing in Montgomery County for the “2017 Future Lawyers Scholarship in Memoriam Ida G. Stewart” and the “2017 Future Lawyers Scholarship in Memoriam Kevin T. Shea.”

Each scholarship will award $3,000 to outstanding local high school students through The Woodlands Bar Association (WBA) scholarship program. Read more…

Soccer Roundup: Ramirez nets four goals in dominant start for Conroe girls


The Conroe girls soccer team got out to a blistering start in the freezing cold weather Thursday during the Blue Bell Invitational in Brehnam. Track & Field: Area Athletes Compete at UIL 6A State Meet

Atascocita’s Jace Comick and Coach Eric Nichols celebrate Comick’s gold medal in the 100-meter dash at the UIL 6A State Track and Field Championship.

The UIL 6A Track and Field State Championships were held May 13  and 14 at Mike Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas. DeSoto High School won both the boys and girls team titles. The Atascocita boys were the top area team with a fifth place finish. The top five boys point totals were DeSoto (54), Manvel (50), Mansfield (36), Comal Canyon (28), and Atascocita (24). Track & Field: Local athletes qualify for state at Region II-6A Championships

uilstate2016Several local athletes put up strong performances at the Region II-6A Track and Field Championships at Baylor University in Waco over the past two days, punching their tickets to the state meet in Austin.

The Woodlands girls and boys won the regional team titles, both by close margins. The Lady Highlanders scored a total of 93 points, beating out Mesquite Horn (88.5) Harker Heights (46) and Oak Ridge (32) and Rockwall (28.5) rounded out the top five. Softball: Atascocita homers its way into next round, 4-2

Softball: Atascocita no-hits Conroe to clinch District 16-6A Championship, 10-0

Winning district championships is something seniors at Atascocita have gotten used to doing.

Having back-to-back titles under their belts heading into this season, the Lady Eagles were seeking a three-peat on Saturday and clinched the District 16-6A Championship via a 10-0 no-hit victory against Conroe. click  here for complete story


Track & Field: The Woodlands’ boys and girls dominate area meet

The Woodlands enjoyed a very successful 15-16 Area Meet Friday at Turner Stadium, advancing 17 individual runners and five relay teams to the Regional Meet in Waco.

The Highlanders jumped in front of their competition early, building a solid lead in the morning with four first-place finishes and six second-place finishes in the 10 field events. click here for complete story
