920x920 (1)PHOENIX – Stacy Lewis missed a chance to shoot the second 59 in LPGA Tour history, settling for an 8-under 64 and a share of the first-round lead Thursday in the Bank of Hope Founders Cup.

Playing in low-90s heat in near-perfect conditions at Desert Ridge, Lewis was 9 under through 11 holes, parred the next six and closed with a bogey after hitting into the deep left greenside bunker. Read more…

They didn’t come for third place, but two Montgomery County wrestlers came away from the UIL Wrestling State Tournament with bronze medals. The Highlanders have started their postseason journey about as well as any team can with a 64-42 blowout win over Mesquite Horn in the Region II-6A bi-district round Tuesday night at the Johnson Activity Center at Fairfield High School. read more…
