Woodlands Woman Killed in Polk County Crash with 18-Wheeler


At approximately 8:40 am on April 11, 2017 an 18 wheeler pulling a flat bed trailer, driven by Curtis Adair, 31, of Point Blank, was north-bound on US-59. Adair attempted to crossover from the north-bound lanes of 59 across the south-bound lanes to Loop 116 (south end). As Adair was crossing the south-bound lanes of traffic, his trailer was slammed in the back half by a tan 2011 Kia Soul driven by Marley Chapla, 21, of The Woodlands. Chapla’s vehicle was fully lodged under Adair’s trailer as the 18 wheeler pulled off the highway to Loop 116 dragging the car. click here for complete story

Girls Basketball: College Park enjoying success with first-year coach Weese

920x920Although it’s still early in the District 12-6A girls basketball season, College Park’s win at Conroe Tuesday night was a sign of just how far the Lady Cavaliers program has come in just a few months.

Beating the Tigerettes 59-50 gave them their second win over a district team that reached the playoffs a year ago for a 2-0 start. College Park had only beaten Conroe once over the previous three seasons. Last Friday, the Lady Cavs took a victory over The Woodlands for the first time in seven years. read more…

Police: Conroe man broke into College Park High School, stole peanut butter and jelly sandwiches

school_photoA Conroe man is facing up to two years in jail for allegedly burglarizing a school in The Woodlands. Detectives with the Conroe ISD Police Department say 20-year-old Stone Turks broke into The Woodlands College Park High School hours before classes started Oct. 5. Surveillance video shows Turks pushing a cart through the school, according to court records. Read more…

Two schools in The Woodlands made the list, The John Cooper School and The Woodlands College Park High School.

The highest rated Houston-area school was The Woodlands College Park High School. Aceable’s blog justified its pick by saying, “College Park High is easily identifiable by the striking teal-domed tower at the entrance of the school. Remnants of classical architecture, like arched windows and columns, give this Houston-area high school a collegiate feel.” click here for complete story and list
