Boys Basketball: Conroe comes up short in Classic first round, bounces back in consolation

Golf: Conroe’s Sewell wins individual and The Woodlands Boys team take third at Conroe Invitational Tournament

Conroe senior Chad Sewell fired a 1-under-par 71 Saturday to capture the Conroe Invitational individual golf championship at Conroe Country Club. Sewell finished the two-day, 36-hole event with a 141 (70-71) for a two-shot triumph over Tristan Hawkins (72-71) of Magnolia High School.

The Woodlands boys lead by Will Arend’s 80-76 took third as a team. The Highlanders carded a 319 on the second day and finished with a 643.
College Park – Academy of Science and Technology’s Nicco Bracci lead the Cavaliers with 74-84 and Oak Ridge’s Conner Lilley lead the War Eagles with 78-79

Baseball: College Park escapes rally by Conroe, keeps season alive

572414ffb6db6.imageThe situation was dire, as it would be for any relief pitcher. Leading Conroe by one run in the top of the seventh inning, College Park’s Luke Trahan came into the game with the bases loaded and just one out on the board. Baseball: Conroe tops Atascocita, keeps playoff hopes alive

572038e13290e.imageStuck in a two-way tie for fifth place in District 16-6A, Conroe desperately needed to pick up a win over league champion Atascocita on Tuesday night at Elmore Field. With a little bit of opportunistic offense and some clutch pitching, Conroe pulled of a 7-5 upset of Atascocita and kept its playoff hopes alive.

The win moves Conroe (15-10, 5-6) into a three-way tie for fourth place with College Park and Kingwood. click here for complete story
