Girls Basketball: Oak Ridge tops College Park in district rumble

Ever since they lost to Lufkin to open district play, the Oak Ridge Lady War Eagles have been playing with a chip on their shoulder. Friday night, they faced their toughest test yet against a College Park team that was undefeated in District 12-6A.

Oak Ridge rose to the challenge and positioned itself for a run at a district championship by outlasting the Lady Cavaliers 56-39 at College Park High School. Read more…

Girls Basketball: Oak Ridge beats The Woodlands for first time in 12 years

aazaaOver the past seven days, the Oak Ridge Lady War Eagles have been wreaking havoc in District 12-6A by utilizing the full depth of their bench and playing aggressively on both ends of the court for 32 minutes.

The Woodlands caught the full brunt of the Lady War Eagles’ non-stop attack Tuesday night, as they routed the Lady Highlanders 66-36. It marked the first time Oak Ridge has beaten The Woodlands since Jan. 26, 2005. Read more…

Girls Basketball: College Park enjoying success with first-year coach Weese

920x920Although it’s still early in the District 12-6A girls basketball season, College Park’s win at Conroe Tuesday night was a sign of just how far the Lady Cavaliers program has come in just a few months.

Beating the Tigerettes 59-50 gave them their second win over a district team that reached the playoffs a year ago for a 2-0 start. College Park had only beaten Conroe once over the previous three seasons. Last Friday, the Lady Cavs took a victory over The Woodlands for the first time in seven years. read more…

Girls Basketball: Oak Ridge dominates Montgomery 79-19 in district battle

It was a full house at Oak Ridge High School Tuesday night for the Lady War Eagles’ District 12-6A showdown against Montgomery.
