RV park at long-delayed Grand Texas now open


The first facility at the future Grand Texas Sports and Entertainment District in New Caney is finally open. Grand Texas RV Resort hosted its first guests last weekend, roughly a year after construction began on that portion of the development, according to Grand Texas’ official newsletter. Grand Texas Theme Park headed to New Caney

HEROAfter setbacks and delays, a water park, an RV park and a kart-racing track are under construction at Grand Texas—a 632-acre amusement park development in New Caney at the intersection of Hwy. 59 and Hwy. 242.

Speedsportz Racing Park and Grand Texas RV Resort are projected to be complete this fall after heavy spring rain and infrastructure construction delayed the projected summer completion, Grand Texas CEO Monty Galland said. Big Rivers, the water park within Grand Texas, is on track to open by spring 2017. Once Big Rivers is complete, construction will begin on Grand Texas’ namesake-bearing 200-acre amusement park. click here for complete story

Construction progressing on Speedsportz Racing Park in New Caney

One of the karts that would be used for younger racers at Speedsportz Racing Park in New Caney was on display at the Greater East Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce’s The Loop luncheon March 23, 2016.

Being in the kart racing business since he was 9 years old, it was always a dream of Alan Rudolph’s to open his own racing track.

That dream came true when Rudolph officially announced they would open Speedsportz Racing Park in New Caney off State Highway 242. They are hoping to open Labor Day weekend 2016. click here for complete story

Grand Texas venue eyes opening date

kart-racing-750xx4288-2412-0-218The first venue at the Grand Texas Sports and Entertainment District — a highly anticipated but long-delayed mixed-use development northeast of Houston — plans to open this spring.

Speedsportz Racing Park is expected to fully open to the public by May after its soft opening in April, President and co-owner Alan Rudolph told Community Impact. The complex will include a European-style rental kart facility and rental track, a performance track and a performance pad, as well as the newly formed Alan Rudolph Racing Academy and a Karting Hall of Fame, Speedsportz said previously. click here for complete story
