JROTC Foundation raises $40,000 for local programs

JROTCFndtnAWest144-1The JROTC Foundation’s recent Dinner with Allen West netted $40,000 for underfunded high school JROTC programs in Houston and Texas.

The event, held Nov. 8 in The Woodlands and featuring former senator and retired Lt. Col. Allen West, was the second fundraiser for the foundation, which launched last year. Matt Patrick, radio host with KTRH, emceed the dinner. One hundred percent of the evening’s proceeds will benefit high school JROTC programs. click here for complete story

The Conroe Independent School District invited the community to join together to pay tribute to the many who have honorably served our country.  They joined the combined Armed Services (JROTC) of the Conroe Independent School District in a Salute to Our Veterans. The ceremony began at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, at Moorhead Stadium.

Lieutenant Colonel David Yebra addressed the crowd. Over 300 cadets participated in the Military Pass in Review. The Conroe High School Band and Choir provided music on the field in addition to a performance by The Woodlands High School Orchestra.

All veterans and members of the community were invited to share in this patriotic event as we honor our veterans for their service and sacrifice.

JROTC students salute local veterans

Hundreds of local veterans, CISD students and Montgomery County residents filed into Buddy Moorhead Stadium at Conroe High School for a special tribute Wednesday.

The CISD combined armed services JROTC honored veterans with a 50 state flag review, special recognition and pass in review parade.

Oak Ridge HS culinary arts students served coffee and breakfast to veterans and members of The Woodlands High School orchestra and Conroe Tiger Band played several selections throughout event. click here for complete story
