Baseball: Alphonse blasts off on his birthday, Oak Ridge sweeps Klein in bi-district

Baseball: Kingwood, TWHS reach playoffs; season ends for College Park

The mixed up mess that was the bottom-half of District 16-6A became clear Saturday evening.

With The Woodlands’ 10-4 win over College Park and a 6-4 extra-innings win by Kingwood over the Highlanders later in the day, the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds were shored up. Kingwood, which was in a tie for fifth place a week ago, stakes claim in the third spot while The Woodlands takes the fourth-seed going into the bi-district round of the UIL Region II-6A Tournament this week. click here for complete story
