In about two and a half weeks from now, Oak Ridge will play host to Conroe for the District 12-6A opener for both teams. But both sides got a nice look at each other Friday afternoon when they squared off in the semifinals of the Spring ISD Tournament at Westfield High School.
Oak Ridge (8-1-1) scored early and played relentless defense late to earn a 1-0 victory over the Tigerettes (8-3). The Lady War Eagles will take on Spring at 3 p.m. Saturday at Leonard George Stadium for the tournament title. Oak Ridge has now won six straight matches, including a 3-0 mark this week. Read more…
With temperatures in the low 30s at the Gosling Sports Fields Friday evening, it took a while for College Park coach Meredith Cook to warm up after her team earned a resounding 3-0 victory over Cypress Creek in the Lady Highlander Invitational.
“I can finally feel my toes again,” she said with a laugh.
Despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions, the Lady Cavaliers were able to secure their second consecutive triumph after dropping their season opener against Cypress Ranch Thursday. Read more…
Oak Ridge held its third and largest signing day ceremony of the year on Wednesday in a gym overflowing with War Eagles. Oak Ridge had 36 athletes sign a National Letter of Intent in this academic year, including 19 on Wednesday.
Among Wednesday’s signees were eight track athletes, including five Lady War Eagles: Maria Puente (Allen Community College, Kansas), Kimberly Rodriguez (ACCK), Jordan Buchanan (Texas Wesleyan University), Lauren McCants (TWU) and Kaelah Brewer (ACCK). click here for complete storyclick here for complete story
It was a good 24 hours for Oak Ridge after the War Eagles picked up a pair a huge district wins this past Friday and Saturday. Oak Ridge defeated The Woodlands 7-4 in an 11-inning thriller that went late into Friday night, and then the War Eagles defeated College Park 7-4 Saturday afternoon. click here for complete story
Conroe ISD police arrested Ja’kyris Savoy before class Feb. 10 at Oak Ridge High School for the alleged sexual assault, which investigators say happened five days earlier.
