change_for_charity_meter_1Four Montgomery County charities will benefit from the thousands of dollars in change inserted in Market Street’s voluntary parking meters throughout 2017 as the shopping, dining and entertainment destination announces the beneficiaries of the 2017 Change for Charity program.

Every three months, a new Montgomery County non-profit organization will benefit from the program, which collects the coins, deposited into Market Street’s 68 voluntary curbside parking meters.

“We are proud to continue to partner with local charities that make a difference in our community,” says Noemi Gonzalez, marketing director at Market Street. “Our shoppers have contributed more than $120,000 to the Change for Charity program since its inception.”

  • Assistance League of Montgomery County: The program’s first-quarter beneficiary, provides programs that help strengthen communities by putting caring and commitment into action. The Montgomery County Chapter spearheads programs that touch every age group, such as poison presentations for Pre-K and Kindergarten students, providing fans and blankets for seniors in need and basic needs for the homeless.
  • Panther Creek Inspiration Ranch: The program’s second-quarter recipient, provides personal advancements and results for people with special needs through equine therapy. The programs at Inspiration Ranch are led by Path International Registered Instructors and are supported by a team of dedicated volunteers and of course therapy horses.
  • FAITH Fighting Cancer in Montgomery County:  Market Street’s Change for Charity third-quarter beneficiary, provides emotional and financial support for area cancer patients and their families and also assists in educational and preventative care programs.
  • Family Promise of Montgomery County: The fourth-quarter beneficiary, serves homeless families with children by uniting faith communities in a cooperative effort to provide shelter, meals, transportation, and compassionate assistance leading to independence.
